WHY WE ARE HERE
S3IDF’s endeavour is to demonstrate that pro-poor, environmentally responsible small scale infrastructure solutions can be provided to those who have been by-passed by the main stream infrastructure services.
Our objectives are:
- To reduce poverty by assisting small enterprises to provide modern energy and other infrastructural services
- Target the services specifically to the poor people in developing countries
- Financially sustainable and environmentally responsible Small and Medium Enterprises.
- Covers the provision of services in electricity, water, sanitation, transport and telecommunications.
S3IDF has its conceptual origins in the professional work of its founders
and a core group of like-minded friends with extensive experience in the many areas
(infrastructure financing and development, poverty alleviation, small-enterprise creation and
capacity building strengthening, project execution etc.) pertinent to S3IDF design and implementation.
