Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP)
REEEP is a non-profit, specialist change agent aiming to catalyse the market for renewable energy and energy efficiency, with a primary focus on emerging markets and developing countries. It initiates and funds projects that are in line with the key objectives of: i. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions; and ii. Creating wealth and alleviating poverty through increased access to clean energy sources. The REEEP Programmes are designed as to assist governments in the formulation of sustainable energy policy and regulation or to create innovative finance and business models to make renewables and energy efficiency a bankable proposition for the private sector.
REEEP has been a supporter of S3IDF and its activities in promoting Renewable and Energy Efficiency programmes. Currently, S3IDF's project on "RE/EE supply chain outlets in villages of Karnataka" has been selected under REEEP's 7th Programme Cycle for grant support funding. Under this project, S3IDF is implementing a network of 15 - 20 Supply Chain Players that will enable door step access reach of Renewable Energy/ Energy Efficiency products such as CFLs, LEDs, pressure cookers, efficient stoves, solar lanterns and home lighting kits, biogas units, hydro power generators etc to in the rural villages of Karnataka, over a period of 18 months.
Blue Moon Fund (BMF)
Blue Moon Fund (BMF) supports new economic, cultural, and environmental approaches to resource use, energy use and urban development. Since 2005, BMF has been a serial supporter of S3IDF for application of S3IDF's Social Merchant Bank approach and its variants, including additional innovations in the development of project portfolio and pipeline additions of small-scale, pro-poor, pro-environment investments. Currently, S3IDF is the recipient of BMF grant support for continuing its ongoing efforts.
KSK Energy Ventures Limited (KSKEVL)
KSK Energy Ventures Limited is an Indian subsidiary of KSK Power Venture plc, and a power project development company in India, with experience in developing and operating multiple power plants across India. The Company was established in 2001 to capitalize on the emerging opportunities in the Indian power sector and focus on developing, operating and maintaining power projects. KSKEVL supply power through a combination of long term and short term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to a combination of industrial and state-owned procurers and consumers in India.
Some of the project activities of S3IDF Hyderabad office have been under the aegis of KSK Energy Ventures’ Corporate Social Responsibility programme. KSK’s focus is on development of necessary basic civic and infrastructure amenities such as roads, sewage and sanitation facilities, street lighting, hospitals/health centers, community welfare centers, cremation places, grazing lands, drinking water programmes and cultural activities. KSK also supports causes on education and health like establishing ITI, providing scholarships, educational facilities for girl children, rural sports, medical camps and other medical benefits.
